Curly Nikki | Natural Hair Styles and Curly Hair Care: Scalp Issues and Natural Hair

Curly Nikki | Natural Hair Styles and Curly Hair Care: Scalp Issues and Natural Hair: "Daria writes: There isn’t much mention of scalp issues in the natural world….(ie dandruff, psoriasis, dry scalp, etc). Has anyone noticed..."

I have to share this with those who are suffering too with this issue. I have psoriasis and seborrheic dermatitis, but mine's is a hereditary issue since it's on my maternal side of the family (I was at first diagnosed with having eczema like my other family members). Some the tips that are shared are tried and true relief treatments.

Ladies (and gents!!) Might I suggest Wen by Chaz to help alleviate that itchy, dry or flaky scalp?? I started using the Fig Cleansing Conditioner and oil a few months ago and have gotten stellar results. I cannot tell you how this stuff works, but I can tell you that its worked wonders for my hair. As a woman of color, its often difficult to find products that will work favorably for my hair as the weather changes. My regimen usually changes per season, and Wen has actually been able to stay in rotation this fall/winter as it works better than the Olive Oil line I SWORE to. Don't believe me? Try it! Order the product, use it for 30 days and on day 31 try using your old shampoo/conditioner and see how you feel.
The Intro kit I got from QVC comes with a Texture Balm and a Styling Creme that I don't use, so I can't really tell you much about them. I continue to use my own light daily moisturizer. Leaves my hair feeling super soft and healthy, its manageable, AND I haven't relaxed my hair since August!! Give it a try! Your hair is worth it!

I've heard about the Wen products, and I have to see if I can get the intro kit from QVC. Thank you ladies for the awesome post and rockin' recommendations!
