Is fashion being too provactive?

Speaking as somebody who was a Fashion Merchandising major, this ad is nothing different from what we see on TV everyday. If this ad did not exist, there will still be sexting happening, and children still being oversexed. I'm listening to the news right now, and this woman said "it's targeting teenagers into foursomes, which is a small demographic." Ummm no it's really not, and I need her to open her eyes. There are teens who do participate in orgies, and that was even when I was in high school ten years ago. Fashion always pushes the envelope, and obviously this has pushed some angry parent buttons. I for one am happy that it's this ad, and not the very sexual girl-on-girl H & M ad a couple of years ago, that had my cousin (almost like a brother) and I in a little debate. He thought it was great (typical answer for a 19 year old), and I thought it was a little bit on the extreme side (again pushing some type of envelope this time showing the sexiness of two-piece string bikinis). Whatevs, if we censor fashion ads, we really need to do the same for TV. Your two cents on this issue is needed.

I did it!

I cut off my hair a lot earlier than I had planned, but it was worth it. I just got tired of looking at the thin scraggly parts that were once full this time last year. I'm not tripping because by the time of my anniversary, my hair will be long enough to put in some twists for our vacay. So, yay I'm a natural again!

Hey everyone!

I do apologize for not posting, but there has been a lot going on in my life only to get busier. Just wanted to drop a howdy, and a recession friendly protein treatment (coincidence since I just had a convo about this today).

calling all HAIR mixologists

I am having a hankering to do my own products...I don't know something about purchasing products that really won't do much to my hair just bothers me, lol. I mean I will always be a contributor to boosting the economy with my conditioner and various oils purchases (still love you Hairveda lol), but not to sure about anything else (at least not full price). Do any of you have any blends you mind sharing? Or your holy grail of all oils or butters?

Happy Belated Cinco de Mayo

To all the Mexican readers (or shall I say peekers)! Well I had to make a Tex-Mex dish yesterday to celebrate, and my husband of course got the Texcate beer and Cuervo lol.

Casserole a la Trotter (my last name lol)
1 can of navy beans
2lbs of ground turkey
2 cans of Rotel chiles and tomatoes (I used one can Hot and one Mild)
4 tbls of your choice of salsa
low sodium taco seasoning
2 tsps of chilli pepper
1 bag of Mexican blend cheese
small flour tortillas
oil (for greasing the casserole dish, and a little for the ground turkey)

Directions
1. brown the turkey with the taco seasoning
2. rinse the beans, and add to skillet
3. last five minutes in the skillet, add the salsa
4. oil the casserole dish (you should only need enough to moisten a paper towel)
Assembly
this is going to be in layers
1) layer the tortillas to cover the bottom
2) add the meat and bean mixture
3) cover with tomatoes
4) add cheese
Repeat, should be able to make one full casserole and have enough for a small pie plate casserole (at least I did). You can add any toppings you want, we just kept it simple last night.
Ole'!!!

I've got the Faith!!

Faith 21 that is, I forgot to blog about this since I've been on the busy Mommy thing this week. I had to sub, and also had to pick up her new pictures (adorable might I add). I also did a little shopping on Macy's since Mommy needs a new pair of fitted jeans, and a pretty top (knee is still bothering me so no new heels yet). In case you didn't know they are having their Friends & Family sale, type in the code MACYSFRIEND for 25% off (I saved 16.11 on my order). Anyways (see how I get side tracked) Faith 21, Forever 21s plumper sister, was launched this past Friday.

Here's the disheartening size chart, but hey I can still wear a shirt made by them. Oh well here's how I'll know my change in eating helped me.
